First business trip to Japan

By | 2016, News | No Comments

In a couple of days our colleagues from Business Development Department will fly to Tokyo for the very first time. They will have the opportunity of meeting some scientists in University of Tokyo and Tohoku University, as well as visiting old friends in Tsukuba University. We are sure that Japan won’t disappoint them, probably will exceed their (already high) expectations.

San Jose, California (United States) – 21st to 23rd of June, 2016

For over 30 years, Sensors Expo & Conference has established itself as North America’s premier event focused exclusively on sensors and sensor-integrated systems. Our General Manager, Dr. Oscar Ahumada, and our Business Development Manager, Rosalía Calleja, will travel to US to attend this conference. They will join people from MEMS industry and take the opportunity of being part of the ONLY event where you can find solutions for present sensing technologies while exploring sensing technologies that are driving tomorrow’s solutions.

The event also includes an Expo Floor to see the latest sensing technologies. With over 250+ Exhibitors, we will have a great opportunity to learn about “hot” and cutting-edge technology areas: Energy Harvesting & Low Power, Flexibles & Printed Sensors, IoT, MEMS, Wireless, and Wearable Tech.

Barcelona (Spain) – 14th to 16th of March, 2016

We are very pleased to participate in II Peptide Materials for Biomedicine and Nanotechnology (PepMat 2016). This is an international conference dedicated to the most relevant developments in the field of peptide materials and its application to Biomedicine and Nanotechnology. The conference was held from 14 to 16 of March in Barcelona and our General Manager, Dr. Oscar Ahumada, has participated with an oral presentation entitled “Mecwins: developing biomedicine applications using nanomechanical sensors”. After his talk, participants took the opportunity of see our platform SCALA working, which as exhibited during the second day of the congress. We would like to thank to all the friendly people we met during the conference and specially thanks to Prof. Carlos Alemán for his hospitality and invitation to this congress.

This sponsorship can be the beginning of new connections, relationships and developments of final applications in the field of peptides with SCALA.

Our general director, Dr. Oscar Ahumada and business development manager, Rosalía Calleja have recently visited India for a number of commercial actions.

They held an update meeting with the local representative Dr. Anand Dixit (Fourvac). Additionally they took the chance to follow up previous conversations with some of the Key research groups in the cantilever sensor area: Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL) in Delhi, Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CEERI, CSIR) in Pilani as well as taking the opportunity of introducing our technology to other research institutes and learn more about their research activities. Very interesting meetings have been arrange in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Kharagpur (the first of the IITs to be established) and also with some researchers from Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic Research (IGCAR) at Mamallapuram. They took also the chance to visit Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science in Kolkata, where the first image using Laser Raman Spectroscopy technology. Thanks to Prof. Rupa Mukhopadhyay for her time and kindness in showing the institute.
