Immunosensor Research to the Next Level

Following our recent publication on improving immunosensor performance through optimized surface functionalization, we’re excited to share the next step in our journey. Last week, our team at Mecwins, in collaboration with Prof. Carlos Alemán’s group (IMEM at UPC), conducted advanced spectroscopic experiments at the MIRAS beamline of the ALBA Synchrotron, to gain a deeper understanding of how our fine-tuned surface chemistry translates into functional performance at the nanoscale.

Special thanks to Marta Villa, our joint PhD student with Prof. Alemán, whose commitment helped drive this initiative forward, and to Dr. Jordi Sans and David Naranjo for their technical support and guidance throughout the beamtime.

These early results are already shedding light on new insights that could help to better understand the mechanisms behind Mecwins’ ultrasensitive assays. We’re thrilled by the potential—and hope to be able to share the interesting insights soon.

Stay tuned for more as we continue to bridge surface science and diagnostics innovation!
